The role
In this full-time post you will spend 50% working for and with the Transparency Solutions team, which is based in Hargeisa, Somaliland. The other 50% will be focussed on working on proposals for a variety of MzN International clients and occasionally on our own proposals.
The post is based in our Hamburg, Germany office. 
 
Primary Responsibility
  • Write high quality and convincing proposals that win funds
  • Identify bidding and other business development opportunities with key donors in Europe, especially (but not limited to) the UK and Germany as well as the EU 
  • Build relationships with donors and partners, with the support from MzN and TS senior staff
  • Work with our Business Development Director and our Managing Director on strategic initiatives
  • Work with the team and leadership at Transparacy Solutions on bid development
  • Contribute to the thought leadership at MzN International and help us develop our business development processes
Skills & Experience you need
  • Excellent proposal and bid writing skills (solicited and unsolicited)
  • Up-to-date knowledge of donor trends and practices, especially those of the EU, Germany (primarily GIZ) and UK (primarily DFID and FCO)
  • Very good negotiation skills with donors (with support from senior TS and MzN staff)
  • Ability to build and manage a consortium of a geographically spread-out network of organisations
  • Fun, positive attitude, even under pressure and the ability to connect with others professionally
  • Willingness and desire to learn
  • Ability to work flexibly in accordance with business needs
  • Professional in the use of common ICT applications

This is a is a full-time, contract position, initially offered on a 2 year term limit. An extension or conversion to an unlimited position is likely. The position is based in our Hamburg office.
