What you will do
You will help, and at times lead, our NGO and IGO clients go through organisational change processes and restructure their worldwide organisations to fit better the new context of development and aid. Your work will include:-
  • Conduct technical advisory work in respect to change projects, including Gap Analysis, stress testing business systems, interview key staff at NGO/IGO clients to analyse perceptions of change, mergers, acquisitions and other restructuring processes
  • Develop high quality reports succinctly summarising work results
  • Work with clients to action the conclusions reached together, championing a participatory work approach.
  • Quality assure and re-direct where necessary the work of technical experts to ensure a coordinated approach 
  • Contribute to MzN's knowledge base and publications on what works (and what does not) in change processes
  • When not on a client assignment, support with the business development (incl. bid writing) and technical knowledge of MzN
Essential skills & experience
  • At least 5 years experience building & improving Financial Management Processes and Systems at INGOs or other international non-profit organisations
  • Proven consulting skills, including (but not limited to) establishing positive work relationships with the client, ability to communicate the purpose of a project and adapt quickly to change 
  • Excellent report writing and presentation skills
  • Ability to travel internationally on short notice
  • Friendly and positive work attitude
  • Familiar with cloud based work tools and other common IT applications
  • Advanced University degree in a relevant subject 
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken)
  • Have some fun in your work
In addition to the above essential skills, the following would be considered an advantage:
  • Proven experience with Organisational Development & Change projects
  • Experience in workshop faciliation
  • Experience in development of business development systems (bid development, opportunity identification)

This is a is a full-time, contract position, initially offered on a 6-month basis. An extension or conversion to an unlimited position is likely. The position is based in our Hamburg office.
